About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and Distributed Control System (DCS) construction and commissioning management guidance and support to client management during construction, commissioning, and initial operation of power projects
- Review instrument/component calibrations, perform functional testing of plant process systems, and perform I/O loop checks
- Provide general and technical consulting for I&C, electrical technicians, and construction personnel
- Facilitate client–owner/regulator communications
- Coordinate issues between engineering and construction to support project activities
- Review and advise on corrective action issues and deficiencies
- Support preparation of startup plans for functional testing of process systems
- Support preparation of system turnover packages and review system testing documentation
- Oversee initial configuration and energization of control system equipment, including hardware, software, networks, and datalinks
- Perform logic, graphic, alarm, and process-control verification and testing, as well as process control tuning
- Ensure installed progress and work product align with drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements
- Track work progress and highlight key activity development in daily reports
- Support partners and project stakeholders by communicating early about problems and finding creative solutions to project challenges
Requirements
What you’ll need- No sponsorship for U.S. work authorization
- Experience setting up, commissioning, and operating various DCS systems
- Ability and willingness to work at project site locations domestically or internationally
- Success working with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
- 10 or more years of applicable experience, including combined-cycle, coal, and/or nuclear power plant construction, commissioning, and initial operation
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated client relationship-building experience
- Familiarity with industry regulations, codes and standards, and best practices related to power plant electrical operations, maintenance, and safety
- Positive attitude and ability to build positive relationships
- Detailed understanding of power plant network architecture and control systems
- Ability to work in a field assignment with required travel
