About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review and oversee the QA/QC program across all project phases
  • Conduct regular contractor audits for conformity with design documents and project specifications
  • Ensure contractors use current design-document revisions and maintain accurate change records
  • Monitor storage and maintenance of project materials and equipment
  • Review construction test reports and compliance documentation, including welding, concrete, NDE, welding procedures, and welder qualifications
  • Oversee construction quality for soils compaction, concrete placement, structural steel bolt-up, rotating equipment alignment, and electrical cable testing
  • Maintain quality records and as-built documentation
  • Compile and report quality audit results and performance metrics to project management and stakeholders
  • Support contractor pre-planning of quality-control processes
  • Document inspection observations, deviations, and non-conformances
  • Track non-conformance reports and corrective actions
  • Summarize and report QA/QC performance statistics and identify improvement opportunities
  • Provide interface between contractors, subcontractors, and the client
  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures
  • Maintain records of quality activities, inspections, equipment condition, and performance metrics
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to plant operators, maintenance teams, and other stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance, operations, and maintenance within the power generation industry
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, and best practices for power plant construction, operations, maintenance, and safety
  • ASME code welding knowledge
  • Familiarity with National Boiler Vessel repair alterations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel and work in various locations across the United States
  • Acceptable certifications include NCCER welding/pipefitter, AWS-SCWI (Welding Inspector), AWS-CRI (Certified Radiographer Interpreter), and ASNT Level II VT
