About the role

  • Perform structural engineering reviews
  • Prepare structural design specifications
  • Advise power project developers on utility-scale solar, wind, battery energy storage, and thermal projects
  • Evaluate new power and infrastructure projects independently
  • Develop technical reports for audiences including owners, developers, governmental agencies, and financiers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering with a structural specialty
  • 5+ years of detailed structural design, including mass concrete, steel, piles, deep foundations, lattice structures, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience in detailed structural design specific to power generation or distribution (thermal, renewable, substations, etc.)
  • Experience in writing and providing support documentation for Structural Engineering specifications, calculations, and feasibility studies
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical evaluation report writing
  • Valued but not required: Professional Engineering (PE) or Structural Engineering (SE) license
  • Finite element modeling experience – specifically SAP2000, LPILE, STAAD, etc.
  • Experience with design of foundations in unique subsurface conditions (i.e. karst, high groundwater, potential for liquefaction)
  • Multi-discipline teamwork (i.e. design projects, co-ops)
  • Data analysis and visualization skills
  • Project finance or business acumen
  • Conceptual project design skills
  • Knowledge of construction project management and/or scheduling software
