About the role

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive external communications strategy that includes print and digital content, media relations, and brand initiatives.
  • Build a regular reporting cadence to measure the effectiveness of all external communications programs.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of external communications and technical professionals.
  • Serve as a steward of the company’s brand image and reputation.
  • Maintain a strong sense of urgency and organization to manage multiple complex projects with varying deadlines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in corporate communications or a similar role, with at least five years in a management position.
  • Proven track record of managing teams, developing processes, and implementing successful communications strategies.
  • A strategic thinker with a deep understanding of how communications influence business outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of website, SEO, and content analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, etc.).
  • Experience with video projects and a working understanding of creative design processes are highly desirable.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong command of AP Style are essential.
  • A confident leader who is skilled in providing feedback and coaching team members.
  • Must be able to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and internal stakeholders.
