About the role

  • Remote position with occasional travel to Richland, Washington.\n
  • Join a multi-disciplinary project team to design PLC-based control systems, SIS, and other industrial control platforms.\n
  • Prepare specifications and design media for procurement and implementation of software, instrumentation, and control system platforms.\n
  • Through mentoring, classroom-style technical sessions, and on-the-job training, you will increase your knowledge and skills in your engineering discipline.\n
  • Periodic travel to equipment fabricator locations for system programming and testing.\n
  • Periodic travel to client offices for design reviews, and to facility/plant locations for on-site acceptance testing.\n
  • Develop your career via peer learning by way of S&L's Communities of Practice.\n
  • Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen; ability to obtain US Government security clearance; ABET-accredited BSEE/BSME; 5+ years of experience; 5+ years of software development/PLC programming; experience with industrial communication design; experience with P&IDs, etc.; proven ability to interface with project teams; experience with working with craft/technicians; FE/EIT is valued.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.\n
  • Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance\n
  • BSEE or BSME from an ABET-accredited program\n
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in automation and control systems engineering\n
  • 5+ years of software development/PLC programming experience (Rockwell RSLogix 5000 and RSView)\n
  • Experienced with industrial communication design, security, and configuration (Ethernet IP is preferred and a familiarity with Modbus and Profibus is a plus)\n
  • Experienced with producing and utilizing control system design media including P&IDs, Control System Narratives, I/O Lists, Cause and Effect, Logic Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Acceptance Test Procedures, User Manuals, O&M Manuals, and Software Quality Assurance\n
  • Experienced with designing and testing automated machinery or industrial processes\n
  • Proven ability to interface with project teams at all levels to execute automation projects\n
  • Experienced with working with craft/technicians troubleshooting and problem solving\n
  • Valued, but not required skills and experience: FE/EIT Certificate
