About the role

  • Assigned to work on a project team in the Grid business unit assisting engineering team members in execution of project work
  • Work may involve design of new and/or modifications and upgrades to transmission and distribution engineering projects
  • Assist in preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs
  • Work on tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data
  • Be involved in power designs and preparation of documents and specifications for procurement of major equipment, structures, and related installation services
  • Work under the direction of senior engineers
  • Hybrid arrangement expected three days a week in the office and two days remote
  • Internship does not provide relocation subsidy

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with expected graduation in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027
  • Candidates pursuing other engineering degrees may be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power
  • Strong academic background
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines
  • Active enrollment in a BS or MS ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program (valued but not required)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community (valued but not required)
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred (valued but not required)
  • Prior, related internship or co-op experience in our business area (valued but not required)
