About the role
- Assigned to work on a project team in Grid business unit and assist engineering team members in the execution of project work
- Design of new and/or modifications and upgrades to transmission and distribution engineering projects
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs
- Work on project reporting tasks, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data
- Be involved in power designs and preparation of documents and specifications for procurement of major equipment, structures, and related installation services
- Work under the direction of senior engineers
- Hybrid work arrangement: expectation of spending three days a week in the office and remotely two days a week
- Internship does not provide a subsidy for relocation expenses
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with an expected graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027
- Candidates pursuing other engineering degrees may also be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction
- Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines
- Active enrollment in a BS or MS ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program (valued but not required)
- Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community (valued but not required)
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred (valued but not required)
- Prior, related internship or co-op experience in our business area (valued but not required)
