About the role

  • Assigned to work on a project team in the Grid business unit and assist engineering team members in execution of project work
  • Support design of new and/or modifications and upgrades to transmission and distribution engineering projects
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs
  • Work on project reporting tasks: tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data
  • Be involved in power designs and preparation of documents and specifications for procurement of major equipment, structures, and related installation services
  • Work under the direction of senior engineers
  • Hybrid arrangement: expected to spend three days a week in the office and two days remote
  • Internship is part-time/temporary and does not subsidize relocation expenses

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with expected graduation in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027
  • Candidates pursuing other engineering degrees may be considered with relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power
  • Strong academic background (minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines
  • Valued but not required: enrollment in an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Valued but not required: demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community
  • Valued but not required: prior, related internship or co-op experience in this business area
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; company does not sponsor work authorization for this position
