About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for the day to day analysis and optimization of logistics operations.
  • Ensures that the processes, technology, and/or infrastructure to support the efficient and cost-effective execution of distribution are in place.
  • Develops business cases that evaluate transportation routes, modes and rates, warehouse and transportation operations, and distribution requirements planning.
  • Focus on building relationships with customers and logistics service providers.
  • Troubleshoots operational issues to ensure timely and cost effective delivery to customers.
  • Works with procurement services to evaluate and purchase logistic services and works with legal and financial staff to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and quality of the flow of material through the various distribution channels and physical inventory.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics, Business Studies or equivalent job related experience.
  • Knowledge of computer based design and analysis tools – simulation, work measurement, spreadsheet, and database analysis
  • Strong background in engineering, math, analytics and visualization or optimization techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, self-sufficient and self-directed
  • Capable of building strong relationships across organization boundaries
  • Familiar with logistics contracts and tariffs, warehousing and inventory management.
