About the role

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Sany and other makes of Industrial & Construction Equipment
  • Perform advanced preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment reliability and safety
  • Use diagnostic tools, software, and technical manuals to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently
  • Lead or assist in overhauls and major component replacements (e.g., engines, transmissions, final drives)
  • Provide guidance and technical support to entry-level and intermediate technicians; serve as a mentor in the shop or field
  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and customers regarding repair needs, costs, and timelines
  • Complete accurate and detailed service reports, timecards, and warranty documentation
  • Identify and recommend additional services, repairs, or parts (upselling) that would benefit the customer’s equipment and operations
  • Provide on-site customer support, fostering strong relationships to drive repeat business and loyalty
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; comply with OSHA and company safety policies
  • Participate in manufacturer training programs to maintain certifications and stay up to date with the latest service procedures
  • Process paperwork after completion of each job

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in diagnosing and repairing construction or heavy equipment
  • Proficiency in hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical diagnostics, and powertrains
  • Experience using OEM diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins Insite, Yanmar, SmartAssist, Caterpillar ET, John Deere Service Advisor, Komatsu Komtrax, or SANY software)
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying conditions (shop and field)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Ability to train and lead less experienced technicians
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
