About the role
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Sany and other makes of Industrial & Construction Equipment
- Perform advanced preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment reliability and safety
- Use diagnostic tools, software, and technical manuals to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently
- Lead or assist in overhauls and major component replacements (e.g., engines, transmissions, final drives)
- Provide guidance and technical support to entry-level and intermediate technicians; serve as a mentor in the shop or field
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and customers regarding repair needs, costs, and timelines
- Complete accurate and detailed service reports, timecards, and warranty documentation
- Identify and recommend additional services, repairs, or parts (upselling) that would benefit the customer’s equipment and operations
- Provide on-site customer support, fostering strong relationships to drive repeat business and loyalty
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; comply with OSHA and company safety policies
- Participate in manufacturer training programs to maintain certifications and stay up to date with the latest service procedures
- Process paperwork after completion of each job
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in diagnosing and repairing construction or heavy equipment
- Proficiency in hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical diagnostics, and powertrains
- Experience using OEM diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins Insite, Yanmar, SmartAssist, Caterpillar ET, John Deere Service Advisor, Komatsu Komtrax, or SANY software)
- Valid driver’s license; CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying conditions (shop and field)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Ability to train and lead less experienced technicians
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
