About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supporting deal execution and administration across structured finance transactions, working with the wider deal team to deliver quality output within target timelines.
- Assisting with financial modelling, financial analysis, credit risk assessment and the preparation of credit committee submissions, presentations and related materials.
- Helping to identify, assess and escalate transaction and portfolio risks, while operating within approved credit processes, appetite frameworks and wider bank controls.
- Co-ordinating effectively with internal stakeholders including Coverage, Risk, Portfolio and product teams, as well as external advisers and customer stakeholders where appropriate.
- Supporting relationship development with existing and prospective clients, management teams and key business introducers as part of a broader deal team.
- Maintaining high standards of data integrity, customer confidentiality, regulatory compliance and accurate recording of origination and customer activity in key systems.
- Contributing to post-completion portfolio handovers, ongoing relationship support, team initiatives and continuous improvement in procedures, reporting and ways of working.
- Taking ownership of your professional development, learning technical, legal and credit structuring skills, and contributing positively to team culture and Santander behaviours.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Relevant experience in a Corporate Banking, Corporate Finance or wider financial services environment, with exposure to lending, credit or transaction execution activity (Required)
- Experience supporting financial analysis, credit assessment, deal execution or portfolio management activity, with the ability to work accurately under time-critical deadlines (Required)
- Experience contributing to pitches, tenders, marketing activity or broader business development support would be advantageous (Preferred)
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience in finance, accounting, economics, business or a related discipline (Required)
- Accountancy qualifications or similar professional qualifications are advantageous, but not essential (Preferred)
- Good credit and financial analysis capability, including financial modelling skills or demonstrable transferable skills and the ability to develop this competency quickly (Required)
- Knowledge of corporate banking or structured finance products, credit processes and the financial services market, with strong attention to risk and control requirements (Required)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn internal systems, processes and reporting requirements quickly (Required)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across deal teams and build effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with resilience, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proactive, accountable and eager to learn, with the confidence to seek feedback, take initiative and contribute positively to team performance and customer outcomes.
