About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Effectively manage their own workloads to meet legally mandated deadlines and internal SLAs.
- Escalating any issues that may prevent effective and timely responses.
- Undertakes fulfilment of relevant civil court orders served on the bank, by carefully reviewing relevant paperwork to ensure all information contained is correct and in-line with the legislation it is served under.
- Sets high expectations of themselves and their colleagues to ensure a right first time outcome and takes a meticulous approach to their work, escalating complex issues and risks to CORU managers when appropriate.
- Is able to assimilate and analyse information in a range of circumstances and interpret legal/ legislative documents based on training provided and consistent with the expectations of the role.
- Liaise with a wide range of Insolvency service and Competent Authorities to provide relevant information (or challenge as appropriate) in response to enquiries in line with legal requirements and the bank’s risk appetite.
- Identifies any knowledge and training gaps they have to work with management to lead own development and that of the wider team.
- Supports the bank’s risk assessment of customers by escalating customers of particular concern in a timely manner to relevant teams so they can be reviewed in line with our legal and regulatory obligations and appropriate action taken where necessary.
- Supports the wider team and management team to identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, procedures or controls always displaying the company’s behaviours.
- Proactively supports the bank in meeting its business, legal, regulatory and stakeholder obligations in respect of Financial Crime Compliance including identifying, deterring, detecting and disrupting money laundering, sanctions non-compliance, terrorist financing, bribery, corruption and tax evasion risks that arise by way of its activities.
Requirements

- Knowledge of current financial crime regulatory rules and awareness of the regulatory environment in which the bank operates, the drivers of change and their potential impact on the business. ( Preferred)
- Financial Crime Compliance domain knowledge across AML, Sanctions & ABC. ( Preferred)
- Industry or relevant experience for c.1+ years. ( Preferred)
- Knowledge and experience of working across Retail Banking products and an understanding of FC risks associated with a Retail customer base. ( Preferred)
