About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Helping to manage risk for Santander's Unsecured portfolio across multiple products.
  • Develop skills and experience in credit risk management and knowledge across the product lifecycle as part of a team and working with other parts of the business.
  • Solving complex business problems using data analysis software, providing practical value-based solutions, and managing portfolios.
  • Identifying key portfolio issues through deep-dive investigations using our in-depth knowledge of credit portfolio performance.
  • Develop and implement appropriate value-based risk policies, strategies, models, and controls.
  • Taking accountability of credit policy oversight by monitoring performance, clearly communicating issues, developing, and recommending changes where appropriate.
  • Building great Relationships between Risk and other key business areas.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Awareness of credit industry products and markets (Preferred)
  • Experience in credit risk analysis and credit risk decisioning (Preferred)
  • Degree level in a numerate subject (e.g. Maths, Statistics, Operational Research, Physics, or Engineering, ideally 2:1) and/or equivalent qualifications/experience (Required)
  • English (Required)
  • Coding/Data manipulation experience (Required)
  • High degree of computer literacy (Required)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (Required)
  • Creative thinking required as many problems are unprecedented and without guidelines (Preferred)
  • Resilient to setbacks, with the tenacity, drive and keen eye for detail required to solve complex challenging problems (Preferred)
