About the role
- Analyzing financial data and producing financial reports
- Improving the effectiveness of the accounting reporting team by making adjustments and/or enhancements to current accounting and reporting processes
- Creating and/or improving the accounting and reporting processes; recommending enhancements or improvements to improve effectiveness of reporting team
- Preparing or reviewing regulatory reports and researching to resolve discrepancies or significant variances
- Communicating with the team concerning new information requests and research while developing working relationships with business line personnel
- Providing guidance to business lines related to financial reporting requirements
- Informing, gaining input, and supporting decision making by sharing knowledge, status, needs, and issues across business lines
- Guiding and assisting junior level professionals as needed
- Preparing / Reviewing, reconciling or analyzing accounting entries, transactions and results in the general ledger and consolidation
Requirements
- Reconciling experience with high volume bank and general ledger data
- Data mining large volumes of data sets
- Strong formula-related Excel skills
- 3+ years accounting / reconciliation experience
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Required Accounting degree
- Ability to work hybrid – 3 days a week in our corporate Dallas, TX office.
- Demonstrated competence of accounting practices and procedures, including US GAAP/IFRS and regulatory reporting standards.
- Practical analytical and accounting skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to focus on details to ensure and maintain data accuracy, and demonstrate holistic understanding of accounting and financial report.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
- Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate to Advanced experience with MS Word, strong MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access.
- Ability to demonstrate continuous improvement through training.
