About the role

  • Manage and monitor large project or accounting processes within the regulatory reporting function
  • Provide subject matter expertise to leaders and business lines
  • Guide capital reporting teams by reviewing financial information, reporting, and disclosures
  • Ensure compliance and regulatory standards are met within the department
  • Research and analyze new products, systems, and best practices
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop efficient procedures
  • Communicate accounting developments to management
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all lines of businesses
  • Advise senior management on best practices needed to meet defined goals
  • Manage projects and initiatives as requested by senior management
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders
  • Improve existing processes and practices within the Regulatory Reporting department
  • Represent the organization as primary resource for specific accounting projects
  • Coach, review, and delegate work to junior professionals as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent field - Required
  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent field - Preferred
  • 9+ Years in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar field within Banking or Financial Services - Required
  • Advanced accounting practices and procedures, including US GAAP/IFRS and regulatory reporting standards
  • Advanced database skills (Access, SQL, Oracle, SAS) - Preferred
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel formula development, pivot tables, macro development)
  • Solid understanding of bank accounting (BS, IS) required
  • Knowledge of European Basel III capital reporting - Preferred
  • Proven ability to leverage technology to improve and automate business tasks
  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and system validation methods
  • Ability to lead, influence and direct peers, subordinates and management
  • Ability to make effective decisions on complex matters
  • Ability to convey a sense of urgency and drive
  • Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to interact with senior level management
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills required
  • Strong attention to detail and quick analytical skills
  • Self-directed, self-motivated with demonstrated experience providing ideas and solutions to further business understanding
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
