About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define Sanofi’s internal legal positions on drug pricing and government program issues, including 340B, PBM reform, MFN implementation, and government pricing programs
  • Develop the Law Division’s environment-shaping strategy across legal, policy, and advocacy tools
  • Monitor and analyze federal and state legislative, regulatory, and litigation developments and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership
  • Serve as day-to-day legal lead for a defined portion of Sanofi’s 340B program implementation
  • Manage or support 340B HRSA Administrative Dispute Resolution proceedings and related federal and state legal matters
  • Maintain current legal positions on key 340B interpretive questions
  • Identify, assess, and help develop affirmative litigation and advocacy opportunities
  • Provide litigation strategy counsel across drug pricing and government program matters
  • Help design commercially sound and legally defensible internal programs
  • Build legal and factual records to defend Sanofi’s programs in litigation, agency proceedings, and public or legislative debate
  • Represent Sanofi on trade association working groups, industry coalitions, and forums
  • Collaborate with Government Affairs, Public Policy, and Communications on legislative and regulatory positions
  • Engage with Congress, HHS, CMS, HRSA, and relevant state agencies
  • Advise senior Law Division and business leadership on high-stakes drug pricing and policy questions
  • Integrate legal, policy, and litigation strategies across functions
  • Prepare and deliver training to commercial, market access, and compliance teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a practicing attorney
  • Substantial experience in complex litigation through discovery, dispositive motions, and/or trial
  • Experience developing and executing legal or policy strategy at a global company, government agency, trade association, or top law firm
  • Ability to master complex, unfamiliar subject matter quickly and exercise sound judgment
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, creativity, and sound judgment
  • Track record of shaping positions and strategy
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills
  • Ability to advise and influence senior leaders and represent the Law Division with external stakeholders
  • Highly collaborative interpersonal skills
  • Preferred: working knowledge of the 340B Drug Pricing Program and other federal government pricing programs
  • Preferred: experience with PBM reform, MFN policy, IRA drug price negotiation, or related drug pricing reform
  • Preferred: experience litigating constitutional claims, statutory and regulatory challenges, and/or APA matters
  • Preferred: experience engaging with trade associations, government agencies, and/or state attorneys general
  • Preferred: federal appellate clerkship or comparable litigation pedigree
  • Enthusiasm for using AI and emerging technology
