About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Involved in all aspects of U.S. Payroll tax compliance.
  • Assisting in the preparation and timely filing of federal consolidated returns and state/local payroll tax returns.
  • Preparation and management of the federal/state tax estimate and extension process.
  • Develop responses to state and local tax notices.
  • Assist with federal and state tax audits including compiling documentation, reports and/or analytics.
  • Researching transaction tax issues, investigating employee tax inquiries and responding appropriately.
  • Interpreting and complying with state, local, and international statutes, regulations, and legislation.
  • Preparing and/or reviewing indirect tax filings.
  • Preparing quarterly tax fillings for Puerto Rico Chauffer’s Tax.
  • Tax Quarter Tax Filing Reconciliation in accordance with ADP deadlines.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferably in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years payroll accounting/tax experience.
  • Extensive experience with Payroll tax processing and Federal, State and Local tax laws.
  • Strong experience with Payroll tax preparation software (ADP/Smart Compliance).
  • Ability to communicate with Federal, State and Local taxing authorities.
  • High level of technical skills – Advanced MS Excel required.
  • Solid reconciliation and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills & attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Team-player, customer-centric attitude.
