About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist patients/residents/clients with therapy activities and exercises under the supervision of a physical therapist
Provide, monitor, and record therapy services for patients/residents/clients with physical, cognitive, and developmental impairments
Select, implement, and modify therapeutic activities and interventions consistent with competency levels, patient goals, practice-setting requirements, and state licensure
Exchange information with and provide documentation to the physical therapist about patient responses and communications during interventions
Provide information and documentation related to achievement of targeted physical therapy outcomes
Follow accepted clinical practice guidelines of the professional organization
Perform other related duties as requested
Based on facility needs and assigned locations, focus on post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments

Requirements

What you’ll need

Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure
Graduate of an approved American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) program as a Physical Therapist Assistant
Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state(s) of practice
Conforms to supervision and licensing standards of the state(s) where services are provided
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
Valid driver's license may be required when applicable
