About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist patients/residents/clients with therapy activities and exercises under the supervision of a physical therapist
- Provide, monitor, and record therapy services for patients/residents/clients with physical, cognitive, and developmental impairments
- Select, implement, and modify therapeutic activities and interventions consistent with competency levels, patient goals, practice-setting requirements, and state licensure
- Exchange information with and provide documentation to the physical therapist about patient responses and communications during interventions
- Provide information and documentation related to achievement of targeted physical therapy outcomes
- Follow accepted clinical practice guidelines of the professional organization
- Perform other related duties as requested
- Based on facility needs and assigned locations, focus on post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure
- Graduate of an approved American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) program as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state(s) of practice
- Conforms to supervision and licensing standards of the state(s) where services are provided
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
- Valid driver's license may be required when applicable
