About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with managers, directors, and senior leadership on monthly productivity, variance remediation, and annual operating budgets
- Coordinate and complete annual operating budgets
- Manage the month-end closing cycle, including reviewing financial information and journal entries for accuracy
- Maintain and report management systems and departmental statistical and financial data
- Evaluate financial impacts of new programs
- Formulate financial forecasts and modeling
- Prepare projections for new building projects and perform rate analysis
- Serve as a project coordinator and provide support and training to team members
- Contribute to Sanford Health's overall financial functioning and support complex areas within Sanford
- Interpret complex financial and accounting data and provide accurate analysis
- Communicate with managers and all levels of management and employees orally and in writing
- Document work thoroughly and manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, healthcare administration, or related field required
- Three years of experience required
- Foundational understanding of accounting principles and standards
- Ability to make forecasts based on statistical analysis
- Ability to perform accurate, complex financial data analysis
- Ability to interpret complex financial and accounting data
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to mentor and take initiative in professional development
- Self-directed and autonomous while working interdependently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and thorough documentation
- Healthcare experience is helpful
- CPA, CMA, or other professional certification preferred but not required
