About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain a high level of cleanliness in assigned areas
- Coordinate projects, room moves, and room turnovers with other departments
- Assign personnel to work areas and project duties
- Assist with housekeeping and laundry coverage during staffing shortages, depending on location
- Plan and coordinate project work to maintain proper frequencies
- Provide staff orientation, initial training, and ongoing education
- Ensure supply-control guidelines are followed and train staff in chemical use
- Identify and correct facility quality-assurance concerns
- Provide guidance and motivation to associates
- Perform assigned quality-assurance inspections
- Monitor daily equipment use, cleaning, and maintenance
- Prepare disciplinary and variance reports and conduct follow-up investigations
- Participate in department safety activities and maintain a safe work environment
- Maintain facility security integrity
- Keep offices, storage areas, and closets clean, organized, and professional
- Assist with The Joint Commission compliance
- Participate in staff selection and interview candidates as needed
- Schedule days off, holidays, and vacations within budgeted hours and department position control
- Review and maintain duty lists, records, log books, and documentation
- Monitor service binders and resolve concerns and comments
- Use internal applications, pagers, and other technology appropriately when needed
- Respond urgently to concerns and requests and complete timely follow-up
- Provide backup assistance with timecard approval, evaluations, schedules, and supply ordering and delivery, depending on location
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to use a computer
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Attend all monthly departmental meetings or review meeting minutes
- Annually attend Infection Control and Safety in-services as specified in personnel policy
- Participate in required orientation, training, and ongoing education
- Follow chemical-use, supply-control, safety, security, and quality-assurance procedures
