About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician
- Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of patients
- Document thorough medical histories from patients
- Contribute to patient assessments
- Administer medications or treatments as ordered
- Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
- Counsel patients and family members, under the direction of a registered nurse, on prevention and treatment plans
- Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge
- Apply age- and population-specific standards in the assigned clinical setting
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Currently hold an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with a State Nursing Board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
- If the position requires IV therapy/management skills in North Dakota: graduate from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or complete an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
