About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Greet patients and verify demographics
  • Create, scan, and route documents or electronic forms
  • Explain documents and capture required signatures

  • Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and account payments
  • Resolve registration errors or denied insurance claims

  • Check patients in and out
  • Operate multi-line phones
  • Resolve work queue issues, manage recalls and waitlists, and operate the switchboard when needed
  • Prepare and coordinate charts
  • Organize supporting provider documents
  • Initiate and collaborate on patient financial assistance
  • Track patient visits and health information on patient accounts
  • Compile, distribute, administer, and score assessments
  • Coordinate telemedicine appointments
  • Make appointment reminder calls
  • Support hospital admissions and general office duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Post-secondary education helpful
  • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
  • Six months of customer service experience desired
  • Medical terminology helpful
  • Customer service skills essential
  • May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings
