Collects subjective and objective health status data from the patient or caregiver.
Communicates this data to the health care provider.
Participates in the care of patients by providing contributing data to licensed health care professionals.
Follows through on the patient's plan of care under the direction of the provider.
Communicates the provider's written instructions for care to the patient, or caregiver.
Participates in care for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, treatment, and follow-up.
Obtains vital signs, prepares patients for examinations, observes and reports patient's signs or symptoms, and performs point of care testing.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA).
Certification (CMA) obtained through a nationally approved certification program for medical assistant.
Registration (RMA) obtained through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) also acceptable.
Additional state requirements include: North Dakota (ND) registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment.
