  • Collects subjective and objective health status data from the patient or caregiver.
  • Communicates this data to the health care provider.
  • Participates in the care of patients by providing contributing data to licensed health care professionals.
  • Follows through on the patient's plan of care under the direction of the provider.
  • Communicates the provider's written instructions for care to the patient, or caregiver.
  • Participates in care for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Obtains vital signs, prepares patients for examinations, observes and reports patient's signs or symptoms, and performs point of care testing.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA).
  • Certification (CMA) obtained through a nationally approved certification program for medical assistant.
  • Registration (RMA) obtained through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) also acceptable.
  • Additional state requirements include: North Dakota (ND) registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment.
