About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide advanced nursing care to patients of all ages, from infants to older adults.
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
- Promote health and wellness, and work in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Conduct comprehensive physical exams and health assessments.
- Obtain and interpret patient histories and diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments within the scope of practice.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide health education and counseling on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Manage follow-up care and coordinate referrals to specialists when needed.
- Perform minor procedures as appropriate (e.g., wound care, suturing).
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record system.
- Participate in quality improvement and practice initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
- Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practice guidelines.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Experience in primary care or family medicine preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.
- State Controlled Substance License (if required by State).
- National board certification as a Family (FNP-C) or (FNP-BC).
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form.
