About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process assigned accounts and track progress of assigned accounts until they are ultimately collected within timely guidelines
- Meet monthly cash collection A/R goals
- Resolve credit balances within the established guidelines
- Prepare and submit claims to primary, secondary and tertiary insurance companies and follow-up to collect submitted claims
- Establish payment arrangements and collect delinquent accounts
- Audit charts to assess appropriate reimbursement
- Regular attendance is required to carry out essential functions of the position
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School/General Education Diploma
- 1 year of medical billing, customer service, and computer experience or postsecondary degree/certification in medical billing or related field
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality while resolving billing issues
- Able to effectively analyze, investigate, follow up and resolve complex billing issues in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision.
