About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process assigned accounts and track progress of assigned accounts until they are ultimately collected within timely guidelines
  • Meet monthly cash collection A/R goals
  • Resolve credit balances within the established guidelines
  • Prepare and submit claims to primary, secondary and tertiary insurance companies and follow-up to collect submitted claims
  • Establish payment arrangements and collect delinquent accounts
  • Audit charts to assess appropriate reimbursement
  • Regular attendance is required to carry out essential functions of the position

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School/General Education Diploma
  • 1 year of medical billing, customer service, and computer experience or postsecondary degree/certification in medical billing or related field
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality while resolving billing issues
  • Able to effectively analyze, investigate, follow up and resolve complex billing issues in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision.
