About the role

  • Manages and directs Adult Programs support and activities across the country to ensure sustainability of Sandy Hook Promise programs
  • Directs, coaches, and develops managers to deliver against adult program goals, including planning, execution, logistics and follow up of leadership trainings, Promise Leaders program development, and all other Adult Programs-related activities
  • Create high-level outlines for adult learning programs aligned with our theory of change
  • Develop model modules that demonstrate inclusive, clear, and trauma-sensitive instructional design
  • Work with third-party vendors to ensure production quality and alignment to vision
  • Incorporate lived experience, community feedback, and adult learning best practices into design
  • Collaborate with Implementation and Partner Success Teams to pilot programs and assess field impact and improve training effectiveness
  • Lead REDI practice development and conversations focused on participant identity
  • Support and direct managers in leveraging technology and communications to engage and mobilize monthly actions including Call-To-Action (CTA) weeks
  • Inform selection of National Youth Advisory Board, National SAVE Adult Summit, School Advisory Council, and other special projects
  • Develops and implements programming and measurable outcomes in accordance with stated deliverables, timeline and budget for funders
  • Directs and oversees deliverables and special projects for Adult Programs throughout regions when necessary
  • Directs planning and execution of adult partnerships aligned with overall Youth and Adult Programs strategy including outreach, awareness, recruitment strategies, webinars, communications and mass communication strategies
  • Informs and directs tracking and reporting for sustainability metrics; oversees tracking of Adult Programs survey completion, program participation, collecting stories of impact
  • Proactively identifies, communicates and troubleshoots potential challenges and opportunities that may impact meeting sustainability goals or program delivery/sustainability
  • Works with AVP of Innovation and fellow directors on program materials and tools, inform outreach strategy and support national activities
  • Ensures AVP is proactively informed on challenges, opportunities, and progress towards goals
  • Serves on and represents Adult Programs interests on multiple Director-level committees across departments
  • Attends Director-level meetings to direct and elevate Adult Programs activities and interests
  • Travel for strategic partner meetings and Adult Programs activities; ability to work from a “mobile office” (30% travel with frequent overnights expected and required)

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in regional or national program implementation with supervisory experience
  • Preference to include 3-5 years of experience with Sandy Hook Promise
  • Proven project management experience: ability to supervise team and contractors, create clear workplans, budgets and use spreadsheets and other forms of technology to track progress and remain on task
  • Ability to successfully supervise employees that manage multiple projects, in different states, with varying timelines and deliverables
  • Experience developing equity and cultural sustainability practices, including a proven track record of leading conversations focused on participant identity (race, gender, sexuality, geography, etc.)
  • Strong relationship management, cultivation and partnership building experience including strong understanding of school dynamics at the state, district and local level
  • Exceptional communications skills—practices clear, concise, communication, and keeps partners and team members regularly apprised of progress, challenges, and needs, strong email and virtual communications experience
  • Has effectively utilized technology, tracking methods/tools for ongoing management of progress and relationships
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint) and knowledge/experience with Salesforce
  • Sound leadership and management experience with the ability to delegate, inspire, provide constructive feedback, and empathize
  • Models exemplary time management, prioritizing and reliability
