About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee all workshop activities, ensuring efficiency, quality and compliance with safety standards.
- Manage work orders, communicate with customers regarding progress and changes, and contribute to the preparation of quotes.
- Develop and implement processes to achieve operational and business objectives.
- Track project costs, control expenditures against budget and recommend investments.
- Mentor, train and engage the workshop team, ensuring alignment with company policies.
- Stay informed of industry trends and propose improvements to processes and practices.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards and promote a safe work environment.
- Maintain clear communication with customers and ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Promote the company's values and support community initiatives.
- Perform any other related duties.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Post-secondary education in mechanical engineering, electrical or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related industry; experience with Sandvik equipment is an asset.
- Proven ability to motivate and lead a team to achieve objectives.
- Strong business acumen and ability to align operational goals with organizational objectives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and relevant tools (Maximo, Power BI, Salesforce).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of rigor and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Self-directed, proactive and demonstrated initiative.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an important asset.
