About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee all workshop activities, ensuring efficiency, quality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Manage work orders, communicate with customers regarding progress and changes, and contribute to the preparation of quotes.
  • Develop and implement processes to achieve operational and business objectives.
  • Track project costs, control expenditures against budget and recommend investments.
  • Mentor, train and engage the workshop team, ensuring alignment with company policies.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and propose improvements to processes and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards and promote a safe work environment.
  • Maintain clear communication with customers and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Promote the company's values and support community initiatives.
  • Perform any other related duties.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Post-secondary education in mechanical engineering, electrical or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related industry; experience with Sandvik equipment is an asset.
  • Proven ability to motivate and lead a team to achieve objectives.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align operational goals with organizational objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and relevant tools (Maximo, Power BI, Salesforce).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of rigor and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Self-directed, proactive and demonstrated initiative.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an important asset.
