About the role
- Full-stack engineer for Samsara\'s Smart Trailer and Connected Equipment business unit delivering end-to-end IoT solutions
- Develop tracking utilization, asset tracking, and sensor-based monitoring (loads, temperature) solutions
- Bring a customer-focused mindset balancing rapid iteration with delivering customer value
- Partner with the Engineering Manager to advocate for long-term technical health and product priorities
- Act as a force multiplier and mentor other engineers; participate in design and implementation conversations
- Champion and embed Samsara\'s cultural principles (Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Growth Mindset, Inclusivity, Win as a Team)
- Collaborate with product managers, customer success, firmware, and infra teams to deliver scalable solutions for millions of IoT devices
Requirements
- Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience in software development
- Strong programming/coding fundamentals with proficiency in at least one: Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with ability to manage technical discussions
- Great team player mentality; experience collaborating across infra, firmware, and cross-functional teams
- Prior experience working with geolocation data (preferred)
- Built and shipped a 0-1 product and experience scaling post-launch (preferred)
- Understanding of building for stability and growth while responsive to customer feedback (preferred)
- Ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work in the specified work location
- Role is remote and open to candidates residing in the United States except specified metro areas
