About the role
- Work with partners across the company to define training requirements, learning goals and user needs
- Craft and build content learning program curricula and learning experiences in different formats (online learning, audio, video, live training materials, etc.)
- Leverage a wide range of tools (AI-based research and content authoring, visual design, multimedia) to develop content rapidly and iteratively
- Push yourself and the team to evolve and improve processes and test new instructional development models and tooling
- Solicit reviews from partners and SMEs, and review others’ content for effectiveness
- Become an expert in customers’ needs and products; maintain and update content frequently
- Design and write engaging and effective assessments
- Collaborate closely with the Education team and other stakeholders to shape live training content and share customer feedback
- Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles across the organization
Requirements
- Knowledge of Instructional Design standard methodologies and proven ability to craft effective and engaging learning content
- Ability to communicate abstract or technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences (visually and in writing)
- Ability to identify the best learning delivery formats and craft/build to those formats (online learning, assessments, ILT, audio snippets, etc.)
- Collaboration skills and teamwork; ability to work within workflows and predefined guidelines
- Attention to design aesthetics and visual detail; graphic or visual design experience is a plus
- Knowledge of content development and collaboration tools: Captivate or Articulate, Camtasia, Miro, Figma, Adobe Suite, Zoom, and AI-authoring & production tools such as Rise, Parta.io, Writer
- 4-5+ years learning design or instructional design experience in a software/SaaS setting
- Experience with localization strategies and tooling (plus)
- Experience supporting Enterprise customers across multiple regions/markets (ideal)
- Must be based in Canada (remote position open to candidates based in Canada)
- Ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work in the specified work location
