About the role
- Lead and manage a Growth Engineering team of full-stack engineers to deliver customer-driven solutions
- Use data to uncover opportunities, drive customer acquisition, and build seamless online self-serve experiences
- Lead experiments, MVPs, and product launches to accelerate the self-serve growth engine
- Be hands-on and contribute to feature development using JavaScript, Vue, Python, GraphQL, and AWS services
- Support growth of individual engineers through mentoring, coaching, and career-pathing
- Collaborate with senior engineers to drive technical strategy and set quarterly goals
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers on new products and enhancements
- Drive roadmapping discussions and influence cross-organizational initiatives
- Perform code reviews and ensure proper design and delivery of major features
- Set high standards for reliability of components and champion Samsara’s cultural principles
- Hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, high-performing team
Requirements
- 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience
- 1+ years of direct people management experience leading a full-stack product development team
- Understands the value of team culture, communication, and collaboration
- Experience developing individual contributors through mentoring/coaching and career-pathing
- Recognizes value in relationships with team members in and out of Engineering (technology business partner)
- Experience building, delivering, and managing large-scale customer-facing products
- Interest in understanding users and improving day-to-day processes
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one layer of the technical stack (JavaScript, Python)
- AWS knowledge and expertise
- Experience working on Growth Engineering teams and/or solving business growth problems
- Ability to perform code reviews and contribute to feature development
- Must reside in the United States (remote position open to candidates residing in the US)
