About the role

  • Build cutting-edge, AI-powered coaching products across web, mobile, and API surfaces for fleet safety
  • Collaborate with ML/AI engineering, Product, and Design to evolve and expand coaching products
  • Solve complex problems and own solutions: architect, build, test, and deliver full-stack products
  • Deliver scalable, AI-driven solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and operations at scale
  • Communicate and develop with engineers, platform/infrastructure teams, product managers, designers, and support teams
  • Build upon skills across technologies such as Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, and MySQL
  • Own the operational health of production systems and provide operational support when necessary
  • Make impact on core architecture, roadmap, and the wider engineering community
  • Champion and embed Samsara cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team)

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software development
  • Experience shipping features used by customers and iterating based on customer feedback
  • Strong communication skills and desire to collaborate
  • Growth mindset and excitement around building new skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and operate with minimum supervision
  • Comfortable building end-to-end solutions; preference for front-end or back-end acceptable
  • Assist in maintaining production systems and provide operational support when necessary
  • Utilize logs and metrics for tracking and investigating bugs
  • Experience with full-stack development in fast-paced environments preferred (5+ years)
  • Experience taking LLM systems to production is a plus
  • Experience effectively collaborating on geographically distributed teams is a plus
  • Experience maintaining software products at scale is a plus
  • Experience with Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, and AWS is a plus
  • Must reside in the United States (remote position open to candidates residing in the US)
