About the role

Who we are: Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, enabling organizations with physical operations to harness IoT data to develop actionable insights and improve operations. About the role: Architect and design critical parts of the Automation Platform; set strategy around Event Architecture and reusable RPCs; ensure product scales while maintaining flexibility. Responsibilities: Work with product managers, designers, firmware, and infra engineers to architect, build, test, and deliver full-stack features across front-end, back-end, and mobile. Maintain production systems and provide operational support. Help build team culture and mentor. Solve problems for global customers and partner with other teams to prioritize requirements. Champion Samsara's cultural principles.

8+ years of industry experience building and operating production software systems. Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Java, C#, or equivalent). Node is acceptable; Python/Ruby not preferred due to scale concerns. Experience designing and architecting large, high-scale systems. A focus on and desire to mentor fellow engineers. An ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver upon project milestones with your team. Experience with a public cloud such as AWS.
