About the role

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies
  • Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are accurately reconciled and financial transactions are recorded properly
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support management in decision-making
  • Review and analyze manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS) to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including operations, procurement, and sales, to gather necessary data for financial reporting
  • Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial reports
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure proper controls are in place for the company’s financial transactions
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with management to implement best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred)
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a senior or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, and COGS analysis is highly preferred.
