About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage administrative formalities related to new hires and enter the information into payroll systems
  • Manage a regular volume of new hires, potentially representing 15 to 20 hires per month
  • File workplace and commuting accident reports with the CPAM (French health insurance fund)
  • Process benefits and insurance cases, including illness, workplace accidents, therapeutic part-time work, disability, and death
  • Collect, enter, and verify payroll variables
  • Send individual employee data and contract amendments to the external payroll provider
  • Update information in the time and attendance management system (GTA)
  • Monitor and reconcile French daily social security benefits (IJSS) and subrogation
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, collective bargaining, and internal agreement requirements
  • Prepare final pay settlements, including calculations, payments, and end-of-employment documents
  • Review and approve salary payments
  • Respond to queries from employees, managers, HR Business Partners, and other internal stakeholders
  • Review and approve social security and tax contributions calculated by the payroll provider
  • Manage relationships with social security and tax authorities and organizations, including URSSAF, pension funds, CPAM, health insurance providers, and benefits providers
  • Reconcile payroll with accounting records and analyze any discrepancies
  • Manage meal vouchers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Two- or three-year post-secondary degree in Human Resources, ideally with a specialization in payroll
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Payroll Manager or Payroll Specialist
  • Strong payroll and personnel administration skills
  • Good knowledge of French payroll regulations and employment law
  • Experience managing a large employee population and a high volume of hires and departures
  • Proficiency in office software, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Decidium Grande Entreprise / ADP is a significant advantage
  • Knowledge of BusinessObjects (BO) is also appreciated
  • Meticulous, methodical, and highly organized
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate with a range of stakeholders
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and personable
