About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Critical Facility Engineers in daily operations and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Maintain focus on assigned tasks while ensuring a strong commitment to safety.
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical facility systems.
- Complete preventive and corrective maintenance activities across multiple technical disciplines.
- Inspect and maintain HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Respond to facility emergencies, environmental issues, and air quality concerns.
- Create, track, and close work requests and work orders; verify completion of assigned work.
- Monitor contractor performance and recommend improvements as needed.
- Provide electrical, mechanical, controls, and water chemistry expertise for data center operations.
- Coordinate with management, contractors, and consultants on construction, commissioning, and system integration projects.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs and system commissioning activities.
- Drive operational efficiency through performance analysis, technology improvements, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage electrical capacity and loading for data center white space and back-of-house systems.
- Support maintenance activities during non-standard hours as required.
- Oversee contractors performing critical maintenance on UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, and related systems.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or GED equivalent with two years of technical school with an emphasis on mission-critical operations, industrial manufacturing, or relevant military operations experience in electrical and mechanical systems.
- 3 - 5 years of experience as a Critical Facilities Engineer or other relevant critical facility infrastructure leadership experience.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in data center engineering operations (DCEO), maintenance, and engineering supporting critical facilities operations, required.
- Demonstrated, working technical knowledge and understanding of critical data center systems, including HVAC, standby emergency power, uninterruptible power supplies, and associated infrastructure.
