About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants
- Address and resolve tenant complaints and issues promptly
- Coordinate and oversee tenant move-ins and move-outs
- Ensure compliance with lease agreements and property rules
- Schedule and oversee regular maintenance and repairs
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety and compliance
- Manage relationships with contractors and vendors
- Implement preventive maintenance programs
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract new tenants
- Oversee the leasing process, including showing properties, screening applicants, and negotiating lease terms
- Prepare and manage annual budgets for each property
- Monitor and control operating expenses
- Collect rent and other fees from tenants
- Prepare financial reports and statements for property owners
- Ensure properties comply with local, state, and federal regulations
- Handle legal matters related to property management, including evictions and lease enforcement
- Supervise and provide leadership to property staff, including leasing agents and maintenance personnel
- Conduct performance reviews and provide training and development opportunities
- Foster a positive and productive work environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Property Management, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in property management or a related field
- Strong knowledge of property management principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to handle difficult situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Certified Property Manager (CPM) or similar certification preferred.
