Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of data center electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire life safety systems
Follow processes that maximize customer uptime cost-effectively
Identify and repair data center problems quickly
Ensure contractors deliver quality services and meet internal customer demands
Develop approaches to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency for Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Life Safety systems
Test electromechanical assemblies and electronic volt meters
Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine process methods and sequences
Inspect equipment for defects, leaks, and potential issues
Install electrical/electronic parts and hardware using hand tools
Align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand and power tools
Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety, security, building monitoring, and control systems
Analyze systems and provide feedback on standards and processes
Work with contractors and consultants on quality assurance for system expansions, corrections, and upgrades
Track and complete preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Determine maintenance requirements for facility systems
Provide smart/remote hands assistance within specified SLAs
Complete moves, adds, and changes for hardware, including labeling, power connectivity, and network cable connectivity
Complete documentation, notifications, escalations, incident/request tracking, and follow-up
Submit accurate and timely Field Service timesheets
Fulfill contractual expectations under client Statements of Work
Complete assigned Talent LMS training
Follow Salute safety standards and client security/privacy practices
For Level III: track MEP system trends, support fit-outs and commissioning, track annual budgets, attend high-level meetings, and create/review/approve operational and maintenance procedures and EOPs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Level I: Associate's Degree or minimum 2 years' experience in the electrical/mechanical industry
Level II: Associate's Degree or minimum 3 years' experience in the electrical/mechanical industry
Level III: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or minimum 5 years' experience in the electrical/mechanical industry
Understanding of mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, LAN/wireless network, and data center systems
Ability to process hands/eye requests, including tape rotation, rack and stack, hardware inventory, device power cycling, and patch cable installation/removal
Mechanical aptitude for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems
Certification in CPR/First Aid, NFPA 70E, and OSHA forklift training
Ability to lift 50 lbs or greater
Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and building codes
Knowledge of networking concepts
Current knowledge of industrial safety practices
Ability to use integrated critical monitoring systems
Critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills
Microsoft 365 proficiency
Ticket system literacy
Basic customer service principles

Hand, hearing, head, eye, fall, ladder, and electrical safety knowledge
OSHA 10 Hour General Industry
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 40 lbs
Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs
Ability to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergencies
Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
Clear vision, with or without correction, while wearing safety glasses
Ability to differentiate color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
Ability to work across varied indoor temperatures and outdoors in extreme weather
Ability to work in elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
Valid driver's license for work-related travel, as required
