About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute annual regional business plans aligned with Salomon's commercial objectives
  • Identify opportunities to expand distribution, increase market share, and strengthen brand presence within the specialty performance channel
  • Develop growth strategies for key markets, customer segments, and product categories with Sales Leadership
  • Monitor account performance and improve sales, sell-through, and profitability
  • Maintain understanding of marketplace trends, competitor activities, and consumer behaviors
  • Build and maintain relationships with retail owners, buyers, store managers, and frontline sales associates
  • Serve as the primary field contact for Salomon within the assigned territory
  • Lead business reviews with key independent retail partners
  • Drive seasonal initiatives and in-store programs to improve consumer engagement and product sell-through
  • Conduct store visits to evaluate merchandising, inventory positioning, product presentation, and brand execution
  • Deliver recommendations and action plans to improve retail performance
  • Lead product knowledge clinics, seasonal sell-in meetings, and retailer training programs
  • Educate retail staff on product technologies, innovation stories, category strategies, and consumer benefits
  • Support product launches, events, demos, races, and grassroots marketing initiatives
  • Collaborate with Marketing on local activation opportunities
  • Support and influence independent sales representatives and agency partners
  • Align field priorities, seasonal initiatives, and sales strategies across assigned agencies
  • Monitor agency performance and effectiveness
  • Gather and communicate marketplace feedback and competitive intelligence
  • Provide recommendations regarding assortment opportunities, pricing dynamics, and retail trends
  • Partner with Sales Operations and Sales Leadership on forecasts, account planning, and territory management
  • Contribute insights to annual planning and seasonal go-to-market strategies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5–8+ years of sales or field leadership experience within sporting goods, outdoor, athletic, or performance footwear/apparel industries
  • Strong understanding of specialty retail and wholesale sales environments
  • Proven ability to build influential relationships and drive account growth
  • Demonstrated experience conducting product training and retail education
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze sales data and translate insights into action plans
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned region
  • Ability to talk and hear regularly
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk frequently
  • Ability to occasionally kneel, stoop, crouch, twist, and lift up to 30 pounds, with or without accommodation
  • Close vision and color vision
  • Ability to adjust focus
