About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as an initial point of contact within the Office of Admissions for parents, students, counselors, and community leaders
- Analyze student requests and needs and cultivate traditional, non-traditional, international, and admitted student prospects
- Plan and execute targeted recruitment initiatives to increase enrollment
- Manage an assigned territory and meet specific recruitment goals
- Conduct market research and analysis for the assigned territory
- Execute recruitment travel through high school visits and college fairs
- Establish relationships with school counselors and school and community leaders
- Build relationships with prospective students and families throughout the admissions funnel through in-person and virtual meetings, phone, email, text, and handwritten communication
- Document interactions, maintain accurate records, and execute processes using CRM software
- Evaluate and execute initial admissions decisions while maintaining confidentiality
- Lead daily information sessions and explain admissions procedures and requirements
- Participate in admissions events including Open Houses, Scholarship Programs, Accepted Student Days, Welcome Weekend, Orientation, and Summer Sips
- Perform office duties including admissions and financial aid visits, campus tours, Counselor of the Day duties, inbound calls, and email responses
- Work with student ambassador tour guides, student volunteers, telecounseling projects, and alumni volunteers
- Plan and direct college day programs, recruitment receptions, and visitation programs
- Conduct research on assigned territories and determine student eligibility
- Implement recruitment strategies in assigned territories, including high school and community college visits
- Provide admissions presentations at campus tours and on- and off-campus events
- Conduct student data processing
- Determine student type and applicable admissions process using independent discretion
- Advise prospective students, applicants, and families concerning admissions policies and requirements
- Assist with supervising and training student volunteers
- Assist in developing marketing materials for programs and recruitment
- Interpret Office of Admissions policies and procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- At least 2 years’ experience preferred in Admissions at an institution of higher learning, preferably recruiting prospective students, with an ability to make sales presentations
- Must be able to travel extensively both in state and out of state
- Evening and weekend work is required
- Demonstrated knowledge of the admissions and enrollment process
- Bi-lingual a plus
- SLATE Experience preferred
- A valid North Carolina driver’s license is required
