About the role
- Conceptualize and Build: Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Backend Engineers to brainstorm, conceptualize, and build new, high-impact features for our search and Slackbot experiences.
- Integrate Search & Slackbot: Own the frontend integration between search functionality and the Slackbot AI experience, creating a cohesive and intuitive user journey.
- Deliver High-Quality Results: Contribute heavily to team projects that have a significant, measurable impact on the business and the user experience.
- System Ownership: Actively own frontend systems and components, defining their long-term health and roadmap while improving performance and accessibility.
- Operational Excellence: Assist our skilled support and operations teams in triaging and resolving complex production issues.
- Mentorship and Standards: Mentor other engineers, provide thoughtful and deep code reviews, and drive improvements in engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience building and shipping web applications with a focus on frontend development.
- Deep expertise in modern frontend technologies including React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of web performance optimization, accessibility (a11y), and responsive design principles.
- Experience building search interfaces, autocomplete experiences, or AI-powered UIs is highly desirable.
- The ability to significantly contribute to technical architecture discussions and drive critical technical decisions within your team.
- A track record of writing understandable, testable code with a strong focus on maintainability.
- Solid computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and an understanding of how frontend systems interact with backend APIs.
- A related technical degree (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) is required.
