About the role

  • Ensure all network issues are resolved in a timely manner, with minimal impact on customers.\n
  • Perform high-level diagnosing and analysis to resolve the root cause of network outages and implement workarounds and/or permanent solutions.\n
  • Isolate hardware and software problems on network devices and work with vendors to resolve issues.\n
  • Perform break/fix services like RMAs, routing changes/traffic engineering, DDoS mitigation, etc.\n
  • Perform proactive network maintenance, such as code upgrades, hardware refreshes, config updates, peering/transit turnups, and cleanup/decoms.\n
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to identify ways in which we can proactively improve the stability of the network and decrease potential for future outages to occur.\n
  • Provide third-line customer support and technical expertise for network-related issues.\n
  • Drive service ownership for the Network Cloud; assist in efforts to streamline problem and change management processes, improve alerting and incident handling, and increase automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline.\n
  • five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field.\n
  • A related technical degree required (Computer Science, Engineering (any field)).\n
  • Special Skill Requirements: (1) Routing, Switching, and Network Security; (2) Network Automation using Ansible and Python; (3) Terraform infrastructure as code; (4) Network DevOps; (5) Packet Capture and Analysis using Wireshark; and (6) TCP/IP.\n
  • Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable.\n
  • Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required.
