About the role

  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and support decision-making through analysis of revenue, costs, and profitability
  • Produce monthly management accounts for the UK business units and ensure timely review of P&Ls with operational heads
  • Collate commentary and insight alongside the business partnering team and provide to the SMA following monthly review meetings
  • Drive the budgeting process for relevant division, building budgets from rolling forecast information and supporting stakeholders' assumptions
  • Support profitability analysis and manage customer profitability reporting processes
  • Responsible for balance sheet reconciliation sign-off for relevant business units and highlight risks and opportunities to the Senior Management Accountant
  • Support year-end audit and liaise with external auditors for relevant areas of responsibility
  • Support corporate governance and financial control and maintain accounting process and control documentation
  • Ensure regular reporting cycle targets are adhered to
  • Coach, mentor and shape the development of assistant management accountants where applicable
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to aid decision making

Requirements

  • Professional qualification in accounting (e.g., ACCA, CIMA)
  • Proven experience in management accounting roles, demonstrating a strong financial background
  • Experience in month-end processes, ensuring accurate revenue posting and resolving exceptional items promptly
  • Ability to manage customer rebate accruals and consolidate performance across various business units
  • Strong analytical skills for post month-end duties, including supplier contract reporting and ad-hoc analysis
  • Proficiency in interpreting financial data to provide meaningful insights and forecasts
  • Experience in reconciling and analysing granular cost data for accurate customer profitability reporting
  • Familiarity with automated rules for revenue reporting, ensuring functionality and troubleshooting as needed
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams, specifically Service Delivery Managers and IT Projects stakeholders
  • Clear and concise communication skills, facilitating explanations for changes in customer profitability trends
  • Demonstratable adaptability to evolving processes and changing dynamics in revenue and cost structures
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, actively contributing to the development of the customer profitability process
