About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop electrical system designs in accordance with project scope, client requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards
  • Provide engineering planning, design, and construction administration services for power distribution systems, lighting control systems, fire alarm systems, nurse call systems, and other low voltage systems
  • Perform existing building surveys and document current electrical and fire alarm conditions
  • Prepare, edit, and coordinate electrical specifications and construction documents
  • Author engineering reports, assessment reports, and Basis of Design (BOD) documents
  • Coordinate closely with internal project teams, architects, and other engineering disciplines
  • Participate in and lead technical discussions, design coordination meetings, and client presentations
  • Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field coordination as needed
  • Assist Project Managers with technical input, schedule coordination, and project execution

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience
  • Experience with healthcare, science and technology, education, and/or commercial buildings is strongly preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • LEED accreditation or sustainable design experience preferred
  • Proficiency in electrical engineering calculations (Lighting photometric calculations, Voltage drop analysis, Short-circuit and overcurrent protection coordination studies, Load Calculations)
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
