About the role
- attend and acquire knowledge through formal training program consisting of classroom training and on-the-job training (OJT) experiences
- participate in OJT experiences in both compensability and disabling claims functions
- develop skills in evaluating claims information to determine compensability, benefit entitlements, claim reserves, and settlement parameters
- review assigned claims to develop, initiate, and follow through on plans of action
- investigate and obtain medical reports and other information required for benefit decisions
Requirements
- fluent bilingual Spanish-English communication skills
- one or more years of increasingly responsible work experience
- a bachelor’s degree in humanities, liberal arts, business, or a related field preferred
- have or have the ability to obtain certification as a claims examiner in accordance with ORS 656.780 and Chapter 436 – Division 55
