About the role
- Assist Outlet Manager in all phases of restaurant operations
- Responsible for complete restaurant operation in absence of manager
- Monitor servers, runners, and other restaurant associates and ensure adherence to all service standards and SOPs
- Inspect staff for correct, clean, complete uniform, polished shoes, name tag and general appearance standards
- Supervise service of guests and watch for signals from guests in need of service
- Assist manager to establish and monitor side-work duty completion
- Maintain bank to SOP; keep it balanced and secure at all times
- Read daily communication sheets from previous shift and prepare one for the following shift
- Check for personnel call offs and verify floor plan coverage
- Check restaurant cleanliness, setup, service stands, aisle areas, and tables for proper setup
- Communicate daily with restaurant manager regarding special events, house counts, etc.
- Assist restaurant managers in conducting menu classes and taste panels
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- 1 to 2 full years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s)
- Advanced knowledge of principles and practices within the food profession, including food and beverage management
- Management experience overseeing people and resolving complex problems
- Excellent oral communication skills for interacting with guests and associates
- Excellent comprehension and ability to interpret instructions from superiors
- Excellent vision for seating guests, expediting food, cleaning equipment, reading floor plans, charts, and schedules
- Ability to lift, push, pull and carry 20-40 lbs regularly
- Ability to bend and climb stairs as needed
- Mobility to cover all areas of outlets (95% of shift) and continuous/minimal stationary standing
- No driving required
