About the role
- Plan and manage the restaurant, room service and other food and beverage outlets to achieve customer satisfaction and meet financial goals
- Manage associates: hire, schedule, train, develop, coach, counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, and recommend discipline/termination
- Implement company programs (IHC/franchise) and ensure compliance with SOPs and safety regulations
- Forecast, implement, monitor, control and report on outlet budgets (labor, food, beverage, supplies, equipment)
- Respond to customer trends, needs, issues, comments and problems to ensure quality experience
- Create, recommend and implement promotions, displays, buffet presentations and marketing ideas
- Monitor and control maintenance and sanitation of outlet areas and equipment to protect assets and ensure compliance
- May manage a lounge or quiet bar and oversee daily operations of restaurant and room service
Requirements
- More than two years of post high school education
- Two to three full years of full employment in a related position
- Thorough knowledge of restaurant/hotel practices and procedures
- Supervision/management and communication skills
- Ability to investigate and analyze activities and make recommendations
- Ability to make occasional decisions guided by established policies and procedures
- Excellent comprehension for assisting with guest and associate matters
- Excellent oral communication for communicating with guests and associates
- Ability to interpret instructions from superiors and implement policies and procedures
- Ability to read and write schedules, forecasts and SOPs
- Knowledge of chemicals/agents for training purposes
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull and carry 20-40 lbs regularly
- Mobility to cover all outlet areas (95% of shift), continuous standing, ability to climb stairs as required
