About the role

Oversee department operations in the absence of department leadership
Respond to guest requests and ensure the safety of associates and guests
Supervise, train, assign, delegate work orders or projects and inspect work quality
Make suggestions regarding performance, talent, challenges, and process improvements
Carry a portable radio and respond to engineering service calls
Maintain hotel equipment in an efficient, safe, accident-free manner
Perform essential Maintenance Technician 1 and 2 duties plus specialized trade work (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC)
Operate equipment as needed (pick-up truck, snow removal) and perform renovation/construction tasks
Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures; prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, and heavy lifting

High school diploma
Two years trade school or training in building maintenance/construction (or equivalent)
Minimum four years’ experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry or building maintenance
Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment
Ability to perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work
Perform all essential functions of Maintenance Technician 1 and 2
Special skills in a particular trade: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or HVAC
Supervisory experience or ability to supervise, train, assign, delegate, and inspect maintenance teams
Must be able to lift 75lbs, crawl into small spaces, climb ladders, and support/carry loads
May require ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment
Must be able to read written communiques, LED read-outs, meters, and computer screens
Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written technical and mechanical instruction
Must be able to communicate effectively and courteously with employees, guests and contractors
