Accounting Supervisor

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work directly with the Finance Manager and General Manager to prepare operations analysis and reports.
- Manage all aspects of the day-to-day accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger.
- Support the Business Plan Process and ensure tie in with the strategic direct and tie in to the annual budgets.
- Enters and/or coordinates all accounting, payroll & information technology functions.
- Daily reconciliation of cash and credit card transactions.
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial forecasts for comparison to budget.
- Oversee the monthly inventory process and performs in-depth cost of goods analysis.
- Coordinate preparation of monthly financial statement.
- Ensure a timely and accurate month-end closing process.
- Analyze monthly balance sheet and P&L figures to prepare comments and identify performance trends.
- Assist in the preparation of ad hoc financial analysis for senior management.
- Assist Finance Manager and General Manager with analysis of information and prospective decisions based on information obtained from Accounting and operating results.
- Assist in the design and development of internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Design and implement cost savings solutions.
- Manage budget and control expenses effectively.
- Participate in the planning and administration of the annual budget process including detailed review of departmental budget submissions.
- Build solid working relationships with business and department leaders.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferably in the education or hospitality industry
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office software required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail essential.
- Must be highly analytical, have the ability to think creatively, and to understand complex business dynamics.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.
