About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Managing end-to-end financial accounting across the consolidated entity, including income statement and balance sheet accounts, with responsibility for revenue, OPEX, fixed assets, prepayments, and intercompany transfers.
- Processing month-end journals and actively driving the timely and accurate completion of month-end close procedures.
- Preparing robust and insightful financial reports for internal stakeholders, including monthly management accounts and cash flow statements, to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborating effectively with external auditors and tax advisors, providing necessary documentation and support to ensure compliance
- Owning the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and working closely with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance and the timely delivery of all reporting obligations.
- Collaborating with commercial stakeholders to provide relevant financial analysis and help the business understand its financial performance.
- Working collaboratively with other Accountants to manage and support the accounting team, contributing to a high-performing and cohesive finance function.
- Providing guidance, mentoring, and day-to-day oversight to junior members of the accounting team, fostering their professional development and ensuring quality of work.
- Proactively identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement, standardisation, and automation within the finance function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Contributing to wider finance team projects, including system migrations, ERP enhancements, and other transformation initiatives.
- Ensuring adherence to and documentation of internal controls, accounting policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Requirements
What you’ll need- CA or CPA qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience.
- Proven commercial accounting experience within a fast-paced business environment, with a strong understanding of how finance supports broader business objectives.
- Solid technical accounting knowledge with experience applying AASB / IFRS standards.
- Demonstrated experience in month-end close, financial reporting, and balance sheet management.
- Forensic attention to detail with an ability to multitask, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Proactive, self-motivated attitude with a genuine drive to take ownership and improve the way things are done.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong overall IT literacy.
