Director of Content
SafelyYouDirector of Content leading content strategy and execution for AI-driven senior care company. Overseeing diverse content assets while partnering across teams for impactful storytelling.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- SafelyYou is looking for a Director of Content to own our content strategy and execution from end to end.
- You'll lead a full-spectrum content program — case studies, white papers, research reports, press releases, blog posts, one-pagers, web copy, email campaigns, and social media — while also driving SafelyYou's presence in traditional search, AI-generated answers, and emerging discovery channels.
- You'll set the editorial direction, write and edit content yourself, and manage a network of freelancers and agencies to scale output.
- You'll report to the VP of Marketing and work closely with teams across the company to surface the stories, data, and proof points that make SafelyYou's content compelling and credible.
- Produce and oversee a full range of content assets: case studies, white papers, research reports, press releases, blog posts, one-pagers, web copy, email campaigns, social media posts, and sales enablement materials.
- Write, edit, and review content yourself.
- Brief, manage, and quality-control freelancers and agencies, ensuring all outside work meets SafelyYou's brand voice, accuracy standards, and strategic goals.
- Partner with stakeholders across clinical, sales, customer success, and product teams to surface stories, insights, and proof points that ground content in real outcomes.
- Audit existing content regularly and recommend improvements based on performance, SEO opportunity, audience relevance, and strategic fit.
- Own SafelyYou's organic search strategy end to end — including keyword research, content gap analysis, on-page optimization, and coordination with web and technical stakeholders on site-side SEO.
- Track and report on organic search performance, AI-citation presence, and content-driven pipeline contribution, translating findings into clear recommendations.
- Measure content effectiveness across lead generation, brand awareness, customer engagement, and other key goals. Use performance data to make ongoing recommendations on what's working, what needs investment, and where to cut.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, plus 8+ years of experience in content marketing, content strategy, or a comparable role — with at least 2 years in a director or senior lead capacity.
- Demonstrated experience owning and executing a full content program, from strategy through production.
- Deep SEO expertise, including keyword research tools, technical SEO fundamentals, on-page optimization, and content architecture for search.
- Working knowledge of GEO and AEO practices, including structured data/schema markup, entity optimization, AI citation patterns, and featured snippet strategy.
- Experience briefing, managing, and quality-controlling freelancers, agencies, and other outside contributors.
- Strong writer and editor — you can produce polished, brand-accurate copy yourself and make outside work sound like SafelyYou.
- Analytical and data-driven, with hands-on experience in Google Analytics, Search Console, or comparable tools.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills; comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and workstreams simultaneously.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving, remote environment.
- Experience in healthcare, healthtech, or senior care is a strong plus.
